Collecting Narratives of Change in Georgia
Since the “Rose Revolution” in 2003 Georgia is going through a process of rapid modernization. While the government privatizes public ground and takes down old houses literally overnight, foreign investors are building hotels and whole new quarters. At the same time a young urban milieu tries to stop city hall with occupy camps and raises public awareness with guerrilla gardening.
The Archive of Transition is a joint project of Georgian and German journalists, artists, photographers collecting narratives of change in Tbilisi and aiming to document the process of social transformation. Our contributors are students and young professionals as well as acknowledged writers and researchers. AOT is a growing platform launched in December 2015 that will reflect our ongoing research in Tbilisi.
